Burundi, Bahire Natural

JNP Coffee, our import partner, spent years searching for a specific coffee from the Ngozi province in Burundi—one they had tasted before that consistently scored higher than others from the region.

Their search finally ended when they discovered coffee from a particular hill and met the farmers of Bahire.

This coffee offers delightful flavors of blueberry and rose, with a sweet, lingering finish.

Dried on raised beds, the natural process involves taking the entire coffee fruit from the tree and letting it dry in the sun before being dehulled and bagged into lined bags for export.

The raised beds promote even airflow through the coffee cherries to allow more even drying.

In Kirundi, Bahire means "be well."
